Role is inside IR35

Day Rate: £650 - £700 depending on experience

The candidate will need to have a minimum of 5 years experience as a lead / senior Cloud Security Architect and ideally hold the following:

• Minimum SC clearance, preferably DV (must have a minimum of 12 months before expiry)
• Azure Cyber Security Architect Expert – SC -100
• AWS Security & Data Base – Speciality, AWS solution Architect professional.
• Accredited Cloud / IT security certification

Senior Cloud Security Architect

The Senior Cloud Security Architects post is to develop and implement security strategies, designing robust security architectures, ensuring security integration in all aspects of MODCloud @ Secret IT architecture. Research and applying innovative solutions, aligning with security policies and developing security requirements. The Security Architect is to encourage and enable Secure by Design principles, conducting risk assessments and advising on threat modelling. The Security Architects are responsible for enhancing security tooling, automate security capabilities and support of all security operations. Detailed below are the key responsibilities:

• Interact with senior stakeholders across departments
• reach and influence a wide range of people across larger teams and communities
• develop vision, principles and strategy for security architects for one project or technology
• work out subtle security needs
• understand the impact of decisions, balancing requirements and deciding between approaches
• produce particular patterns and support quality assurance
• be the point of escalation for architects in lower grade roles
• lead the technical design of systems and services

• Support the development of the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the effective delivery of MODCloud @ Secret security architectures.
• Design and support the delivery of security architectures on a project, operational, and ad-hoc basis.
• Research and apply innovative security architecture solutions to new or existing problems and be able to justify and communicate these design decisions at all levels.
• Align security designs to relevant MoD JSP publications, Defence Cyber Security Framework and Secure by Design (SbD).
• Develop security requirements and ensure they are incorporated into security architectures.
• Advise on risk and undertake threat modelling and risk assessments to ensure the application of proportionate controls to security architectures, solution design, and operations.
• Support Cyber Security tooling and services selection, and optimised use.
• Identify opportunities for improving the automation and orchestration of security capabilities.
• Support the security operations teams to improve detection, investigation, prevention, remediation, and investigation of security incidents.
• Support Information Assurance and DPO/SAC teams to ensure any information assurance and relevant security/assurance requirements are understood and met through the security architectures.
• Work with industry-leading cybersecurity suppliers to deliver security-related outcomes on behalf of MODCloud @ Secret.
